This project brings together photographs of living plants, herbarium specimens, and botanical cyanotypes ( blueprints) created from those preserved plants. Through a combination of archival imagery, contemporary photography, and the cyanotype process, I explore memory, presence, absence, and the fragile relationship between preserved and living forms.

The images presented here represent an early stage of development. The project is ongoing, and both the visual direction and sequencing continue to evolve through fieldwork, photography, and experimentation. Public exhibition of the completed project is planned for July 2027 at Millennium Library.

I dedicated this project to my late grandmother and my late father. My grandmother taught me to recognize, collect, and appreciate plants, and some of my earliest memories are of creating herbariums together. My father loved photography and served as a military photographer during his army service. In many ways, this project brings together the two influences that shaped me most deeply : a love of plants and a love of photography.
